Horan Construction Ltd. both designed and constructed the new Civic Amenity Recycling Site at Bessemer Close, Cardiff on behalf of Cardiff County Council.

The brief from the client was clear... They needed a fully-functional site able to cater for a high volume of users wanting a quick, hassle-free way to dispose of their household refuse. The design had to offer ease of access and use, not just for the members of the public using the facility, but also the Council staff running it.​

Work included constructing retaining walls, hardstandings, surface water and foul water drainage, erecting fencing, railings and gates, installing a steel canopy, commissioning a CCTV system and landscaping the site.​ The approximate value of this contract was £1,500,000.
