Horan Construction Ltd. were awarded the 26-week contract to carry out major improvement works to the Western Bus Corridor route through Cowbridge Road East. This was a high-profile £750,000 scheme working on an integral section of the busiest bus route into Cardiff City Centre.

This works involved construction of the carriageway and footway, adding traffic signals to the junction of Cowbridge Road East and Lansdowne Road – just below Victoria Park – as well as providing a bus priority lane and delineated parking areas. Build-outs were constructed at the junctions of side roads along Cowbridge Road East to improve visibility and a selection of steel railings, bollards, cycle stands, signs and road markings were provided.
